Web languages
Listed in this page are articles about the most important web languages invented and standardized before year 2000.

After Tim Berners-Lee invented HTML and HTML 2 followed closely, many other languages became very important. As the need to personalize the style of webpages and to unify the style across a single website increased, CSS was presented and later officially released by W3C. XML was also developed as a method to archive information in a precise and concise manner. On server side, PHP was invented as a scripting language useful to create dynamic applications. Javascript and Flash were instead created in order to improve the use of a webpage with animations, underlying logic and media content.
